Williams, the sixth-seeded player, defeated second-seeded Victoria Azarenka in the finals in straight sets.
She has won Wimbledon four times in her career and has 13 Grand Slam titles. However, she is coming off her worst performance ever at a major.
Wiliams lost in the first round to unseeded Virginie Razzano at the French Open, but has earned redemption with her performance in London.
Radwanska defeated No. 8 Angelique Gerber is consecutive sets in her semifinal match.
She has never been to the finals at a major prior to this tournament. The furthest she has ever gone is the quarterfinals, which she has reached five times in her career.
To further stack the deck against the 23-year-old, she has been suffering from an illness throughout the tournament. Radwanska made the following statement, per ESPN:
Unfortunately I have picked up an upper respiratory illness, which is affecting my nose and throat. I have been playing a lot of matches here in the rain and cold wind, and I haven't been well for a few days. The most important thing is that I'm feeling good on the court and playing some good tennis, despite not being able to talk much away from the court.
The affliction caused Radwanska and her sister Urszula to withdraw from the doubles competition before their third-round match.
Serena, on the other hand, has advanced to the doubles finals along with her sister Venus. The match, against Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka, will be played three hours after the singles final.
Both players will have plenty on their minds heading into the finals on July 7 at 9 a.m. ET.
