The skillful German defeated the American icon in the most recent final Down Under and has gone from strength to strength on grass at SW19.
Williams dropped only two games in her semi-final against Elena Vesnina, winning 6-2, 6-0, as Kerber tamed the supreme experience of Venus Williams in the last four, prevailing 6-4, 6-4 to deny an all-family final.

It would be wrong to assume Williams has lost the knack of winning Grand Slam finals, but she has been knocking on the door for title No. 22 for a longer-than-desired period.
Kerber is one of the players who have disappointed her on a court recently, and the powerful German can once again be her nemesis on Saturday afternoon.
However, there is a different set of circumstances at play here at Wimbledon than previously in Australia and France—Williams is in electric form.
The American looks fit and motivated after sluggish spells at Roland Garros and the Aussie Open. Kerber is also at the top of her game, defeating sister Venus with plenty left in the tank.
Kerber has an enviable all-around game—but on her best day, Williams is untouchable at the summit of tennis.
Vesnina was not expected to trouble the reigning Wimbledon champ in their semi-final battle—and she didn't—but the scale of the victory was impressive. Kerber will have noted the look of steel in her opponent's eye which wasn't present in the final in Australia.
The German fourth seed has performed to an optimum in London, as she controlled the guile of Simona Halep in the last eight.
