At 33 years old, Federer should be on the decline. Every year there is a tournament or two where it seems like it could be the beginning of the end for the Swiss star, but then he keeps coming back with great showings when it matters.
Amazingly, it appears the veteran is only getting better with age.
Federer has been outstanding this tournament, winning six matches while only losing a single set to Sam Groth in the third round. That lost set was the only time in two weeks he even needed a tiebreak.
However, it likely doesn't get any better than his semifinals performance against Andy Murray. Federer earned a straight-set victory over one of the top players in the world thanks to some incredible work with the serve, winning 84 percent of first-serve points and totaling 20 aces to just one double-fault.
