Wimbledon 2013: Predictions for Tennis’ Biggest Stars at All England Club

The 2013 edition of Wimbledon is right around the corner and all of the game’s biggest stars are going to be on hand—including Andy Murray.
Wimbledon is the All England Club’s late-June kickoff to grass season and figures to be fought to a dramatic conclusion.
Heading into England there are several intriguing storylines surrounding the top men’s players in the world. We’ll take a look at those as well as predict how each of the “big four” will fare.
Roger Federer
Roger Federer is slumping; there is no longer any doubt about it. The 31-year-old has not won a major since last year and hasn’t won a title, at any tournament, to this point in 2013.
Factor in that 15 of Fed’s 16 Grand Slam titles came before he hit the seventh year of his career and that gradual decline is even more apparent. He has won just one slam during his last 13 attempts.
Federer still has a shot to turn it around at Wimbledon by producing another dominant performance. Odds are, though, that the aging star won’t have enough left in the tank to get it done against the best in the world, even at his best tournament.
Prediction: Semifinals defeat
Rafael Nadal
There is a lot of hope for Rafael Nadal heading into Wimbledon coming off a record-setting eighth win at Roland Garros.
While the clay courts of clay season provided a refuge for the rebounding star, the grass courts of Wimbledon will get the better of Rafa. He’s going to compete, but the faster and unpredictable green grass of the All England Club will benefit Djokovic, who will get revenge for his semifinals ouster by Rafa in Paris.
Prediction: Finals defeat
