The only higher seed to fall in his or her match was defending Wimbledon champ Petra Kvitova, but if you're shocked that she lost to No. 6 Serena Williams then I'm not sure where you've been the last 10 or 12 years.
With her dominant performance on Tuesday, Serena looks primed to win her fifth career Wimbledon title.
She blew away Kvitova in the first set, winning 6-3. After that, Kvitova might as well have gone home, as ESPN Stats & Info pointed out.

There she will meet No. 2 Victoria Azarenka, who beat unseeded Tamira Paszek 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Tuesday. Azarenka, the 2012 Australian Open champion, advanced to her second consecutive Wimbledon semifinals with the win. If she beats Serena, she will overtake Maria Sharapova as the top-ranked woman in the world.
Joining them in the semifinals will be No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska and No. 8 Angelique Kerber, both of whom survived grueling three-set matches in the quarters. Kerber beat No. 15 Sabine Lisicki 6-3, 6-7 (7-9), 7-5, while Radwanska squeaked past No. 17 Maria Kirilenko 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.
On the men's side of the bracket, No. 4 Andy Murray and No. 7 David Ferrer both advanced, setting up an intriguing quarterfinal match.
No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will also join them in the quarterfinals after beating No. 10 Mardy Fish 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4. Although Fish lost, the real loser from that match was the poor center-service judge, who took a ridiculously fast serve to the face in the first set.
