Wimbledon 2010 Brackets: Analyzing the Women’s Favorites and Surprises

This will be the 124th staging of the event, and the third Grand Slam tennis event of 2010. It has been indicated that Queen Elizabeth II will be attending on June 24, for the first time in more than 30 years.
Not surprisingly, Serena and Venus Williams are the odds-on favorites to win Wimbledon. But there will be some surprises as well.
2010 Wimbledon Favorites: The Williams Sisters (who else?)
The clear favorites are Venus and Serena Williams, but that is the case every year at Wimbledon.
Serena Williams has been in a slump since winning the Australian Open, so she will be desperately trying to refocus and take back the title she won in 2009.
Meanwhile, her sister, Venus, has won Wimbledon more than any other current player and, ranked at number two in the world, is looking strong.
Look to see Serena unravel in the quarterfinals while Venus makes another strong run.
2010 Wimbledon Surprises
Just like the French Open, when Francesca Schiavone came out of nowhere to win at age 29, the 2010 Wimbledon Championships could have another surprise winner.
Look to see players like French Open finalist Samantha Stosur, Russian Alisa Kleybanova, Chinese player Li Na, and Russian Nadia Petrova, make real runs at this year's Wimbledon. One of these unknown players could possibly win the title, much like surprise French Open winner Schiavone.
2010 Wimbledon Second Tier Favorites
So we know about the Williams sisters, but who else has a solid shot at winning?
After a disappointing loss in the French Open, Justine Henin will be looking to win her first Wimbledon, a goal she stated in her comeback.
