Victoria Azarenka: How Star Is Rebounding from 2012 French Open Loss

Earlier in the year, Victoria rattled off four straight tournament wins at the Apia International in Sydney, the Australian Open, the Qatar Total Open and the BNP Paribas Open. Since then, her losses have been mounting with the biggest sting coming in the championship of the Madrid Open on May 13.
It appears that Victoria is a bit rattled and needs to take a step back to figure out how she can improve. With Wimbledon approaching, Victoria would love to find a way to come out on top in one of tennis' biggest tournaments.
So, in the meantime, BBC Sports is reporting that Azarenka plans on taking a short break from tennis in order to prepare for Wimbledon.
"There has been a lot of tennis for me in the last five months," she said. "I need just to get rested mentally, definitely. Once I have my passion and desire back on the court, I'll be on the grass."
Mentally, Azarenka just hasn't been available lately. Many were shocked when the No. 1 women's tennis player in the world was tested pretty hard by Alberta Brianti in Round 1. After barely escaping the round, she was clearly not her best as she faced up against Dominika Cibulkova.
According to BBC Sports, Azarenka has beaten Cibulkova seven out of eight times. At one point, in this latest defeat, she had a 2-0 lead, before giving it up to Cibulkova, who went on to go up 4-2 and defeat the top player.
The Chicago Tribune reported, as well, Azarenka's comments on her most recent defeat.
