Fourth-round play at the 2016 U.S. Open got underway Sunday.

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic were at the top of the marquee on the men's side, while Madison Keys and Angelique Kerber headlined the women's slate. Neither Djokovic nor Nadal had much of an issue advancing to the fourth round.

Entering Sunday, Djokovic hadn't played a full set since the first round, with his last two opponents retiring because of injuries. Nadal won each of his first three matches in straight-sets romps. The final set saw both men dig in deep for a 69-minute capper. Both men traded a break apiece to set up a tiebreak, which saw Pouille jump out to a 6-3 lead. But Nadal wouldn't quit. He swept the next three points to tie, forcing Pouille to regroup and take the next two for the upset.

ESPN Tennis captured his moment of triumph:

Pouille won despite committing 53 unforced errors. He took advantage of Nadal's struggles with second serves, winning more than half of those points, and had 11 aces. The match was as even as possible; both guys won 156 points apiece.

Caroline Wozniacki provided the day's second-most-notable result, knocking off ...
