US Open Tennis 2015: Title Odds and Predictions for Top Seeds Falling Early

There are always surprises in the opening rounds at the New York event, and this year won't be any different. Many seeded players will be eliminated within the first couple of days, including some ranked as high as the top 10.
Before potentially betting on someone to win the 2015 championship, watch out for a few players destined to fall early.
No. 8 Rafael Nadal
He is clearly one of the best male tennis players of all time, but you wouldn't know it from the way Rafael Nadal has performed this season.
While he does have three titles, inconsistent performances have seen him drop to No. 8 in the world rankings. He has just an 11-6 record on hard courts in 2015, including two losses in his last three matches.
Shockingly he couldn't even advance past the quarterfinals at the French Open, a tournament he had won nine of the previous 10 years. At 29 years old, he is clearly not the player he was even a couple of years ago.
Nadal even admitted he has to change his mentality during the course of the season.
"Losing matches, that's part of my career, too," Nadal said, via Larry Fine of Reuters. Losing is something "I have to accept now."
It seems unlikely the Spaniard will advance past the quarterfinals with Novak Djokovic in his bracket, but the reality is even reaching that far could be a stretch.
No. 7 David Ferrer
