US Open Tennis 2012 Results: Serena Williams’ Path to Final Proves She’ll Win

Not only has her successful year been a great indicator, Williams' effortless path to the U.S. Open final further proves she's primed to win the tournament.
Granted, Williams hasn't played anyone like Azarenka on her way to the final, but that doesn't change the fact that she's dominated.
Serena has yet to drop a set at this year's U.S. Open. In fact, she's only lost 19 games in total.
Now, you might be saying that was done against lesser opponents earlier in the tournament, but Williams has even flourished against better opponents.
Against the Serbian Ana Ivanovic (12), Williams won easily in straight sets 6-1 and 6-3. In the semifinals against Sara Errani, Serena made it look even easier, winning 6-1 and 6-2.
At this point, Serena is so hot, it doesn't matter who she goes up against and that's including Azarenka.
That isn't the only thing Azarenka has working against her, though.
In 10 career meetings between Williams and Azarenka, Serena has won nine of them. Six of those meetings were in Grand Slam tourneys with their most recent showdown occurring in the Olympics.
Williams won that matchup in straight sets.
Williams' path to the U.S. Open final makes it abundantly clear that the American is still playing at the very high level that she's sustained throughout 2012.
Combining the unbeatable nature of her play in this tourney and the fact that Azarenka has had a ton of problems beating Williams in the past, there's no doubt that Williams will capture yet another U.S. Open crown on Saturday.
