US Open 2014 Results: Final Scores, Updated Bracket and More for Day 2

After a number of surprising results on Day 1 in New York City, the action continued with some big upsets in the early part of Day 2. Considering a 15-year-old competitor won a match, it really seems like anything is possible.
While there are still notable matches left for Tuesday night, here is a recap from the early morning and afternoon matches from the U.S. Open.

When you are a 15-year-old amateur at the U.S. Open, simply participating in a Grand Slam should be a major thrill. No one actually expects you to win, let alone against a seeded player.
However, that is exactly what CiCi Bellis did on Tuesday. She got out to a hot start against her competitor, winning 10 of 11 first-serve points in a 6-1 first-set win. After losing the second, she kept her confidence and came back with a narrow win against Dominika Cibulkova.

I went into the match thinking it was going to be such a great experience, but I never thought I would come out on top winning. I’m still in shock about that match.
It’s crazy to think that I’m actually here right now with all these other people. I mean, I never thought I would be practicing or sharing a court with, you know, a player that I watch on TV frequently. I mean, it’s crazy. But I love it.
