Saturday night's U.S. Open Women's Finals has this written all over it: "Serena simply has Victoria's number." I can see it now.
Statistics like how Williams is 9-1 all time against Azarenka don't really get noticed unless they happen on a big stage. People will realize that she really does have her number come Saturday night.
According to WTATennis.com, Williams' 9-1 record is more than just domination in the end result. Eight of the nine victories for Williams was in straight sets.
Williams owns Azarenka. She'll continue to own her on Saturday.
Azarenka May Be Running on Empty
Azarenka is one of the best conditioned women athletes in tennis, but her match with Maria Sharapova will be challenging to overcome. The competitors played several great games in the third set including several that went to multiple deuces.
Azarenka won the match 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Compare that to Williams' victory over Sara Errani and the case could easily be made that Azarenka will tire out while attempting to play in back-to-back days.

Azarenka may be playing the best tennis of her young career but even she dropped two sets in the tournament. Williams on the other hand has blown out the competition by winning every match by straight sets.
Right now, Williams is on another level with her play and she's destined to win yet another Grand Slam.
