As usual, you can catch Tennis Channel, CBS television and USOpen.org Internet transmissions throughout the day. While three of today's US Open Tennis matches are highlighted below, this could prove to be the best day for the Men's Draw so far. Although you have already missed steady Fernando Verdasco beating erratic David Nalbanian in four sets, this great tennis is still to come.

Rafael Nadal v. Gilles Simon

The showcase match is Nadal v. Simon. Simon, another Frenchman still in the U.S. Open, could give us a match more like that we saw from Arnaud Clement's five set match yesterday with Mardy Fish. Assuming that the wind is up and the counter-punching going well, five sets is a distinct possibility.

Many of the tennis cognoscenti expected Philipp Kohlschreiber to be facing Nadal in the Third Round. Yet Simon, one of those pesky French players who are showing up much better this year than ever before, pushed through against Kohlschreiber winning that match in straight sets.

Andy Murray v. Stanislas Wawrinka

Murray, the Scotsman, is favored over Wawrinka, the Swiss, in this headliner that could go the distance. Both players are in good form and if the past is prologue to the future all you need to do is look at Wimbledon in 2009 to find that Wawrinka and Murray could play a very close game this...
