Stan Wawrinka Says Nick Kyrgios Hasn’t Apologized for Insult at Rogers Cup

Richard Shute of the Sidney Morning Herald noted that Wawrinka told reporters Kyrgios has not apologized for claiming that fellow tennis player Thanasi Kokkinakis slept with his girlfriend:
Wawrinka then shut down the line of questioning, correcting the Sky Sports reporters when asked "Are you happy that Nick Kyrgios has done what he should have done in the circumstances afterward and apologised to all the people involved in this?
"Uh no, he didn't apologise, no. But I prefer not to talk about him. Thank you" he sparred.
Following a first-set loss in his match with the 30-year-old in Montreal, Kyrgios could be heard over a courtside microphone telling Wawrinka that Kokkinakis slept with tennis player Donna Vekic, who is reportedly dating Wawrinka.
While Kyrgios was fined $10,000 for the comments, Wawrinka was not pleased in the aftermath of the match:
Wawrinka said that Kyrgios did not apologize to him, but the Australian tennis player did offer a public apology for his actions:
It is clear that the public apology was not enough for Wawrinka given his comments to reporters in Cincinnati. Fans looking for another tension-filled matchup on the court between the two players will have to wait because Kyrgios lost to Richard Gasquet in the first round of the Western and Southern Open.
