It was banned by 2K before even hitting the air.
That's right ladies and gentlemen, they self-censored themselves before even showing the commercial to the judgmental American public.
2K said, "This video is not part of the title's final marketing campaign and its distribution was unauthorized."
You may ask, what was in the video?
Williams, introduced as "the world's sexiest tennis player," was in a black leotard playing tennis using a Playstation 3 Move controller, the device used to play the game.
Her opponent, dressed in a similar leotard was actress Rileah Vanderbilt. She was introduced as "the world's sexiest tennis gamer."
Both ladies squared off with their controllers in hand to the tune of club music and a few light grunts here and there.
The commercial has repeatedly been snatched off YouTube, so finding clips is often difficult, but here's a current link to the video.
Is the video sexually provocative? Yes. But so are many other commercials in today's advertising world.
Just look at Sketchers' Super Bowl ad starring Kim Kardashian.
Her commercial started with a sweaty muscular man on top of her as she gasped for air in sweat on the floor and uttered such lines as, "You're amazing," and, "the best I've ever had."
The man is soon revealed to be her trainer after she gets up and pulls him in close and then walks off to pull a plug for Sketchers "Shape-Ups."
While the image of Kardashian's sweaty embrace of a man may not compete with the movement of Williams' buttocks, her lines were definitely racier in this writer's opinion.
