Below, we'll break down all of the results from Toronto and Montreal.
Men's Results
After a day of upsets on Wednesday, the top players in the men's draw calmed things down on Thursday, as No. 1 Novak Djokovic, No. 2 Andy Murray, No. 7 Rafael Nadal, No. 10 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and No. 16 John Isner all advanced without dropping a set.
A lot of fans were pulling for Isner in particular, as he knocked off Nick Kyrgios a day after Kyrgios made lewd comments about Stan Wawrinka's girlfriend. That was the talk of the tournament on Thursday, to the point that even Djokovic commented on the controversy, per Arash Madani of Sportsnet:
Kyrgios has been fined $10,000 for his remarks, per BBC Sport.
While Djokovic had little issue with Jack Sock, Nadal looked to be in vintage form against Mikhail Youzhny, to the point that Jon Wertheim of SI.com couldn't help but sit back and enjoy the action:
Nadal had a powerful serve and was moving around the court gracefully and effortlessly as he controlled the match. That certainly bodes well for his chances both at the remaining Coupe Rogers tournament and perhaps even looking ahead to the US Open.
And if nothing else, a healthy, flourishing Nadal is good for the sport and is the player best equipped to challenge Djokovic.
Of course, Murray isn't chopped liver. He made Gilles Muller look like chopped liver in their matchup, however, totally dominating the match.
