Roger Federer Will Reach US Open Quarterfinals with Ease

It's hard to not believe in Federer during this event, because, historically, it's one of his best. He's won this event five times, all of them consecutively from 2004 through 2008. Those five titles are the second-most for Federer in any Grand Slam event, winning seven titles at Wimbledon.
Since 2008, however, Federer has failed to win another title at the US Open. While that may sound bad, he's still done well at the event, losing in the finals in 2009, the semifinals in 2010 and 2011 and the quarterfinals in 2012.
Given his history, it's safe to say Federer is in good shape.
Federer has a relatively easy path to the quarterfinals. He's already won his first two matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium, beating both of his opponents in three straight sets.
Now, Federer will be going up against Adrian Mannarino, who has only gotten past the second round once in any Grand Slam event. He has zero career titles and just 29 career matches won. Federer will likely have no trouble taking Mannarino down.
After that, Federer will be playing either Tommy Robredo or Daniel Evans. Robredo has had 12 career singles titles, while Evans is a up-and-coming player who has only played in two Grand Slam events, falling in the first round at Wimbledon twice. Once again, Federer will be a heavy favorite in either of these matchups.
A win against either would put Federer in the quarterfinals, but things would get harder once he made it to the next round.
Two guys that are still in the tournament that Federer could potential face in the quarterfinals would be John Isner or Rafael Nadal. Both are terrific players and would give Federer quite a challenge.
