Roger Federer vs Janko Tipsarevic: Federer Will Ride Momentum to Easy Finals Win

Federer calmly destroyed the Serbian on Saturday, winning 6-2, 6-3. Now, he will move on to face Tomas Berdych in the finals.
Although Berdych has caused him some problems in the past, I'm expecting Federer to cruise to the title. He's no stranger to winning in Madrid, and while Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have been whining about that fancy blue clay, Federer hasn't been phased.
The Swiss icon has been as good as ever, dropping his last three opponents in straight sets.
Against Tipsarevic, Federer left no doubt about the condition of his current form. He controlled his serve beautifully and used his perfect placement to toy with Tipsarevic. Federer moved him all over the court, hitting 25 winners on the day and breaking the Serbian on three occasions.
In the finals on Sunday, I'm expecting a similarly dominant performance. Berdych has beaten Federer four times in 14 matches, but he's 0-for-2 against Fed on clay. Federer won their first clay meeting 6-2, 6-1, and took the rematch 6-3, 6-2, 6-3.
Those wins came in 2005 and 2006, and Berdych has obviously made drastic improvements since then. But with the way Federer has been playing lately, I'd be shocked if he pulled off this upset.
After not competing in a tournament for five weeks, Federer is well-rested. He's also got that classic Fed-Ex mojo working, which is a scary development for the rest of the tennis world.
At 30-years-old, Federer has shown that he's still as dangerous as any player in the world. He's crushing everyone in Madrid, and with the French Open just a few weeks away, this momentum he's building couldn't have come at a better time.
