So, there’s a conspiracy in the ATP tour, says Roger Federer.
Or at least, that’s what Shetty wants us to believe.
I mean, because he gave his own honest opinion to a question asked by the interviewer, he must believe that there’s some clandestine ATP conspiracy against him.
Right?
I think we’re all smart enough to believe that Roger Federer does not believe that and that those comments were just that, comments.
Not whines.
Not declarations of belief in a conspiracy theory. Just clean, opinion.
But let’s play along with Shetty, let’s believe that every single piece of opinion given is a declaration of a conspiracy.
Going with that thinking, Nadal's complaints about the tour's length must be a conspiracy too!
Because of course, it wasn’t enough for the ATP to slow down surfaces to blunt Roger’s immense abilities. They also had to do that while simultaneously running another clandestine conspiracy against Nadal.
The faceless ATP organisers schemed for days on end, wondering how they would run something of this magnitude; how would they weaken both players' games, without strengthening either's.
Then they had it!
Of course! They would lengthen the tour severely, so that Nadal would burn out!
So, the ATP put this plan into motion, and voila, we see the results now.
Is this a plausible conspiracy theory?
Didn't think so.
If we go along with Shetty's thinking, Nadal is the biggest whiner, whinger and self-conscious, conspiracy-fearing person around on the tour.
Since when have we not heard a complaint from Nadal about his injuries? Or even better, the length of the ATP tour?
