Rafael Nadal Gets 7th Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, Bryans Win 18th Masters Title

The World No. 1 starts the clay court season on top and breaking records—Rafael Nadal defeated fellow Spaniard David Ferrer 6-4, 7-5 on the red clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters. As for breaking records, he is the first player to collect his 7th title in a row at the same tournament and win 19 Masters titles.
Nadal said, "[To] win seven times in a row any where is almost impossible I think. But to win Monte Carlo, all the best players in the world are here, you always have tough matches, is impossible to imagine for me. So I am very lucky, I think."
Nadal dominated the clay court titles last year but after losing to Novak Djokovic two times in row on hard courts—Nadal said that Djokovic could very well take the No. 1 spot. Nadal gained 1000 South African Airways 2011 ATP Ranking points.
Bob and Mike Bryan won their 70th tour-level team title after defeating unseeded team Juan Ignacio Chela and Bruno Soares 6-3, 6-2. It was their 2nd title in Monaco.
