Queen’s Club: Rafael Nadal Ousted by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

On Friday, Nadal was defeated in three sets by fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals of Queen's, which is a key tune-up for Wimbledon.
After Nadal won a closely fought first set in a tiebreak, Tsonga seized control of the match. At times, the Frenchman, who was serving big and hitting winners from virtually everywhere on the court, seemed unstoppable as he took the final two sets 6-4, 6-1.
Nadal showed signs of being exhausted after a taxing clay court season, but the 19th-ranked Tsonga played his best tennis to beat the tournament's top seed.
Clearly this match meant a lot to Tsonga, because after defeating Nadal, he jubilantly jumped around the court in celebration of both his victory and his incredible level of play.
For Nadal, this is the second straight year that he has lost in the quarterfinals at Queen's (last year was to his compatriot Feliciano Lopez).
Tsonga, however, will continue on to the semifinals where he will face British No. 2 James Ward.
In other news, the second semifinal will be a blockbuster "Battle of the Andy's," as Andy Roddick, who defeated Fernando Verdasco in the quarterfinals, will face the home favorite Andy Murray, who advanced with a walkover in the quarterfinals after Marin Cilic withdrew from the tournament with an ankle injury.
