Novak Djokovic Survives an Early Scare
Taking on John Isner, who steamrolled his way into the Round of 16 with 27 aces on Wednesday, Novak Djokovic got into early trouble, losing the first set after a 7-5 tiebreaker. Isner scored nine aces in that first set, looking just as strong as he did yesterday.
However, Djokovic came charging back with four aces of his own in the second set while ramping up his defensive efforts, holding Isner to just two aces.
Taking away Isner's advantage in the serving game allowed the former No. 1 to get back to his game, working the lanky American all over the court.
Djokovic won the final two sets in dominant fashion, finishing the match with a 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Tomas Berdych Outlasts Milos Raonic
Tomas Berdych made it into the quarterfinals, but the outcome was in doubt for most of the match.
