Novak Djokovic’s Unbeaten Streak Will Reach New Heights at Indian Wells

The No. 1 player in the world, 25-year-old Djokovic won at Indian Wells in 2008 and 2011. In 2007, he finished as the runner-up to champion Rafael Nadal.
This year, Djokovic is in a position to dominate the tournament. As was reported by Steven Donaldson of the Daily Mail, Nadal could skip playing at Indian Wells to rest his knees.
While not having to worry about Nadal would be all well and good for Djokovic, that's not why his unbeaten streak will reach new heights for this particular tournament.
Look at it this way. As of now, Djokovic's streak is at 13 matches.
That said, it's common knowledge that when players have a streak going, they adopt one of two attitudes: They're either completely relaxed and just go about each match like it's any other, or they go into super-competitive mode and stop at nothing to win.
Djokovic falls into the latter category. He has been a fierce competitor for his entire career, and though Indian Wells is nowhere near on the same level as any of the Grand Slam tournaments, fans should expect him to have an extra bounce in his step this year, especially if Nadal is not playing.
Moreover, people should expect Djokovic's unbeaten streak to reach new heights at Indian Wells because he is proving to be the man to beat on hard courts. Keep in mind that this is the same man who has won the Australian Open four times—for the last three consecutive years—not to mention a U.S. Open in 2011.
The man is on an incredible hot streak, and it's going to be even tougher to beat him at Indian Wells, since he's going to be well inside his comfort zone. All that his opponents can really hope for is that the fire goes out, and he makes an early exit.
