Novak Djokovic: Nole’s Hard-Court Success Will Continue at 2012 US Open

The current world No. 2 on the men's side is primed for a repeat championship in Flushing Meadows, and will put the nightmares of Wimbledon behind him.
Before the 2012 French Open, Djokovic had won three Grand Slam tournaments in a row, but after a loss to Rafael Nadal in the final at Roland Garros, Djokovic fell off of his game.
He lost in the semifinals at Wimbledon and the 2012 London Olympics, failing to medal at the Games after losing the bronze medal match.
Despite his recent struggles, Nole still boasts the No. 2 ranking and a nearly unbeatable hard-court game.
The return to Djokovic's favorite surface has come just in time it seems.
Four of Novak's five career Grand Slam wins have come on hard courts, either at the Australian Open or the US Open. Djokovic is 65-11 combined in singles matches at both Slams.
Since 2007, Novak has made it to at least the semifinals of every US Open, which is a testament to his unmatched preparation and dominance on hard-court surfaces.
Djokovic made short work of Rafael Nadal in the 2011 US Open final, winning in four quick sets. The fact that Nadal has withdrew from this year's tournament will make Nole's rode to a sixth-career Grand Slam that much easier.
Of course world No. 1 Roger Federer will be on top of his game, as will Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray. But Fed is 31 and Murray has never won a major tournament.
Djokovic has had Fed's number as of late at the US Open, as well. Although Federer took down Djokovic in the final of last week's Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, he beat Federer in five-set matches at Flushing Meadows in 2010 and 2011.
