Novak Djokovic Defeats Jeremy Chardy to Advance at 2013 Wimbledon

With the win, Djokovic advances to meet 13th-seeded Tommy Haas, whom he defeated most recently in the French Open quarterfinals earlier this month.
The 2011 Wimbledon champion was all smiles as he took to the court Saturday evening at All England Club:
Djokovic came out fast and furious from the start, winning 21 of 22 total service points, connecting on nine winners and committing zero unforced errors in the opening set, which lasted just under half an hour.
The second set was even shorter, as the 26-year-old Serb won 16 out of 17 service points, smashed 17 winners and kept his unforced error count at zero. Chardy was able to put 78 percent of his first serves into the box in the second frame, but he managed to win only 14 of his 27 service points.
Several games into the third set, Djokovic still hadn't committed an unforced error, as pointed out by the tournament's official Twitter account:
Djokovic would finally commit an unforced error late in the match, but it didn't matter, as he cruised to a three-set victory in front of an appreciative Centre Court crowd.
Chardy was making just his second career third-round appearance at All England Club. The 26-year-old Frenchman is now 6-6 all time in the Wimbledon main draw.
Meanwhile, this win marks the fifth straight year that Novak Djokovic has reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon. He has now reached the round of 16 in each of the past 17 Grand Slams, dating back to 2009.
