Novak Djokovic: ATP Finals Win vs. Roger Federer Will Spark Great 2013 Season

To win this event, Djokovic had to beat five of the best players in the world, including Tomas Berdych, Andy Murray, Juan Martin del Potro, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Federer. Whenever you can beat five quality opponents in one tournament, it's going to do wonders for your confidence.
Djokovic didn't have an awful year by any means, but will conclude 2012 with one Grand Slam singles title triumph and five total singles titles.
After winning in Melbourne back in January, many people thought that the No. 1 ranked player in men's tennis would have another historic season after winning three Grand Slam singles titles in 2011.
Following a four-match winning streak in Grand Slam finals, Djokovic lost to Rafael Nadal in the final of the French Open and Andy Murray in the final of the U.S. Open.
However, Djokovic has played well in recent weeks, and is closing his 2012 season very well with three tournament titles since the start of October.
Djokovic is still only 25 years old and has more strength, skill and athleticism than many of the world's best players.
He might also have something to prove next season because of his struggles in recent Grand Slam tournaments and his inability to win a medal at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
After beating Federer and a number of other top players at the ATP World Tour Finals, Djokovic has proven that when he's on top of his game, few players have even a slight chance of beating him.
He is arguably the early favorite to win another Australian Open title in a few months, and should be full of confidence heading into what promises to be a fantastic 2013 season for the Serbian star.
