Three-time champion and world No. 2 Novak Djokovic enters the men's draw as the man to beat following a stellar showing at Indian Wells earlier this month. The 26-year-old Serb has won this event in back-to-back years in 2011 and 2012 and will be seeded second at the bottom of the draw.
World No. 1 Rafael Nadal will be the overall top seed in the men's draw but will face an uphill battle in Miami as he's never won here before.
Following his stunning third-round defeat to Alexandr Dolgopolov at Indian Wells last week, Nadal admitted expectations are sometimes too high and that his focus is now on Miami, per ATPWorldTour.com:

In the women's draw, defending champion and world No. 1 Serena Williams will make her long-awaited return to the tour. The 17-time Grand Slam champion sat out the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells for the 13th straight year for personal reasons and should be refreshed as she takes aim at her seventh title in Miami.
2014 Australian Open champion Li Na, 2012 Sony Open champion Agnieszka Radwanska and five-time Sony Open finalist Maria Sharapova will each look to end Williams' impressive reign in South Florida.
