Men’s Tennis: Sam Querrey and Others Set To Compete in This Week’s Tournaments

Five top-10 players, including Australian Open finalist Andy Murray, will compete in the 37th ABN AMRO 500 held inside in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Sweden's Robin Soderling is the defending champion here, and the No. 1 seed. Murray won the crown in 2009 and No. 10 Mikhail Youzhny won in 2007. Roughly $383,000 is on the line for the winner, along with a 500-point bump in the rankings.
Despite being ranked higher, Murray is the No. 2 seed behind Soderling, with Australian Open semifinalist David Ferrer No. 3, Tomas Berdych No. 4, Jurgen Mezler No. 5, Youzhny No. 6, Ivan Ljubicic No. 7 and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga No. 8.
All eight top seeds are ranked in the Top 20 in the ATP standings.

Grand Slam winners Lleyton Hewitt and Juan Martin Del Potro, along with top-20 talents Fernando Verdasco, Gael Monfils and Sam Querrey lead the field at the SAP Open, which kicks off today in San Jose, California with 250 points on the line.
The indoor, hard surface court was first played in 1889 and calls John McEnroe, Rod Laver, Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors as former champions.
Verdasco won the tournament last year by defeating Andy Roddick in the final. Verdasco is the top seed this year with Monfils second, Querrey third and Belgium's Xavier Malisse fourth.
Other top eight seeds include No. 5 Denis Istomin, No. 6 Benjamin Becker, No. 6 Hewitt and No. 8 Japan's Kei Nishikori.
Querrey and Istomin were both semifinalists at San Jose in 2010.
