Mardy Fish Ends Career with 2015 US Open Loss to Feliciano Lopez

Fish, 33, announced in July he would retire following the U.S. Open. He didn't play in the entire 2014 season because of an anxiety disorder, so just playing at all this year was a triumph for the veteran player.
While Fish never won a Grand Slam title in his career, he did reach No. 7 in the ATP rankings in August 2011, winning a career-high 43 matches that season. Fish seemed content with the finality of his decision in the post-match press conference, per Greg Garber of ESPN.com:
"I'm very comfortable knowing how hard I have worked in the later stages of my career. Very comfortable with how this summer has gone. Just at peace personally."
He was one of the finest American players on his day, alongside Roddick, and will be missed by American tennis supporters and those who follow the sport as a whole.
