Juan Martin Del Potro Injury: Updates on Tennis Star’s Wrist and Return

Del Potro did not have a great 2014 season, making it to just the second round in the Australian Open before missing the other three Grand Slams. The Argentinian is most famous for his 2009 U.S. Open win, but has reached just one major semifinal since that tournament.
Back in September, Del Potro issued a statement about his progress on Facebook. Here's some of what he wrote at the time:
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you, my fans, that although the recovery of the wrist is progressing very well, I need a little more time to reach the competitive level necessary to compete week after week. I worked hard to be ready to make my comeback in Asia, where I had great results last year, but unfortunately it was not possible.
In the past, Del Potro has proved he can compete at a high level and contend for major titles. After reaching the semifinal at Wimbledon last year, tennis fans certainly hope to see him return to full health and back on the court during the 2015 season.
He continues to recover and his statement to Law shows that his ailment is improving following the surgery. If he can show the same flashes of brilliance he did earlier in his career, Del Potro might be one to watch as still a young star in the sport.
