John Isner: The Next Best Thing for American Tennis?

Isner has shown us that you can still be a potential great even after going to college.
Before his career started, Isner went to college at the University of Georgia, where he had great success. He won the NCAA doubles title as a sophomore, led his team to the national championship, and was selected to the All-American team all four years.
After graduating he started his ATP career, initially ranked 839th.
Isner started out his career by winning the USA F14 and improving his rank all the way to 416th. His success placed him in the US Open that summer and he reached the third round in his first ever Grand Slam.
Isner didn't have the spotlight in 2008, but he had the crowd in shock during the US Open last year.
Ranked 55th, he faced Andy Roddick in the third round. This was one of his best wins of his career, as he had 38 aces in a great five-setter.
When Isner started his tennis season in 2010, he came out and won the Heineken Open.
In the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australia Open, he upset Gael Monfils in the third round, but then lost to Andy Murray. After the tournament, he achieved a career high ranking of 25th, which makes him the No. 2 American, behind only Andy Roddick.
Isner has shown us that he works extremely hard in every match he plays. The future of American tennis is in his hands. When Roddick retires, Isner can get it going and break into the top 10. In around two or three years, he will achieve his first Grand Slam.
He is like Juan Martin Del Potro and Ivo Karlovic combined, which is a great combo.
He will be the center of attention in the tennis world in a few years.
