Indian Wells Tennis 2016: Scores, Results, Updated Schedule After Thursday

Here is a look at the scores and a few highlights from Thursday's action in Indian Wells, California, as well as a look ahead at the remaining schedule:
Bethanie Mattek-Sands overcame a turned ankle early in Thursday's doubles match and won 2-6, 6-4, 10-4 with teammate CoCo Vandeweghe to advance to the women’s final.
They defeated No. 3 seeds Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova and will face Karolina Pliskova and Julia Goerges, who claimed a comfortable 6-4, 6-3 win over Sara Errani and Oksana Kalashnikova.
Mattek-Sands and Vandeweghe lost only one set in their path to the final, just after the former suffered her ankle injury.
Such a performance could forecast a possible union at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The Team USA tandem snapped a selfie with the fans after the win, per the BNP Paribas Open:
Goerges and Pliskova had a clean path to the title round, as they haven't played a seeded team during their run. But playing in just their fourth tournament together, they have put together a strong collective performance, which they hope will lead to a spot in the WTA Finals in Singapore in the fall.
Goerges said they have built strong chemistry in their short time together, per WTA Tennis:
We played two tournaments last year in China and we got along pretty good, and we said we want to play the big ones next year but want to focus mainly on singles.
That's why we're only playing a few tournaments, but we're trying to do as well as we can to go to Singapore. So far we're doing a pretty good job.
The men’s action was highlighted by David Goffin’s resilient run, which continued with his 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Marin Cilic.
