Vika Falters, Top Seeds Cruise
Friday marked the first day of action for the top 32 seeds in the women's draw, and they certainly didn't disappoint.
While Azarenka faltered in the night session, recording a dozen double-faults and surrendering 11 break points en route to an ugly loss, heavyweight Agnieszka Radwanska rolled to a straight-sets victory in the afternoon. And of the 16 seeded females in action, 24th-seeded Kaia Kanepi, 29th-seeded Daniela Hantuchova and 30th-seeded Elena Vesnina were the only others to lose their second-round matches.
Additionally, 19th-seeded Kirsten Flipkens and 22nd-seeded Alize Cornet were the only other top seeds to drop a set on Friday.
