Hall of Fame Tennis Championships 2014: Daily Scores, Results and Draw Schedule

The event is held at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, and follows a long lineage that dates back to 1881. The original tournaments on this surface were the precursor for what is now known as the U.S. Open.
While the event may be steeped in history, this year’s field is stacked with top American and international stars. Not only has defending champion Nicolas Mahut returned, but there are also other big names like John Isner, Lleyton Hewitt, Ivo Karlovic and many others.
When asked about the talent expected to compete, tournament director Mark Stenning told Carolyn Thornton of the Providence Journal about the excitement about this weekend and the upcoming Hall of Fame inductions:
From my perspective, we have an eclectic field of young guys that have really made a mark. And then as we get closer to Hall of Fame weekend, we are expecting 17 past Hall of Famers, which is pretty incredible, and that’s not counting the five new Hall of Famers. So by [next] Saturday, 22 Hall of Famers will be on site, and it’s not uncommon to be walking along the brick pathway and have Nick Bollettieri or Chris Evert walk on by. In Newport, in Rhode Island, it’s a dream.
There is a genuine buzz around this year’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.
Many fans expect Mahut to defend his title at the event, but with Isner taking the No. 1 seed and Karlovic earning the No. 2 seed, the road to a championship for anyone will be arduous. The winner of this event will have earned it.
