German Open Tennis Championships 2014: Daily Scores, Results, Draw Schedule

The tournament is held at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center in Hamburg and is one of the most unique events on tour. With the largest center court in Germany and a retractable roof, playing at this venue is an honor for most players.
As one of the oldest clay-court events in the sport (founded in 1892), the prestige that comes with winning the event can solidify a veteran's position as one of the best or help showcase the skills of younger players looking to make their mark.
With top stars such as David Ferrer, Fabio Fognini, Mikhail Youzhny and Tommy Robredo all gracing the field, the expectations for fierce competition are unsurprisingly high. Fognini may be the defending champion, but he will not have an easy road to another victory.
Before his loss at the Mercedes Cup last week, Fognini spoke to ATPWorldTour.com about his play and where he was mentally before being eliminated:
I think I played better than yesterday. I'm happy I have another opportunity to play tomorrow in the same semi-final as last year. But I think it will be completely different. He's improved a lot in the past year. He's in good shape, but me too. I feel great, especially at this tournament. It's going to be a tough match, but I'm ready.
Fognini will look to bounce back from his semifinals loss, but the road to another German Open Tennis Championship will not be easy. With stars such as Ferrer and the rest trying to build momentum heading into August, the road to a repeat performance will be a bumpy one.
