French Open Predictions: Rafael Nadal Beats Tomas Berdych in Final

Let's break down the last three matches of the tournament.
Tomas Berdych (15) def. Robin Soderling (5)
Soderling holds a 4-3 advantage in seven career meetings with Berdych, but the Czech won their most recent match, 6-2, 6-2, in the semifinals of the hard court ATP World Tour Masters event in Miami earlier this year. Berdych also took the only clay court meeting between the two, in three sets, at the quarterfinals of the '07 ATP Masters Series in Monte Carlo. This is already Berdych's best result at a major and it's time for him to take it one step further.
Rafael Nadal (2) def. Jurgen Melzer (22)
Nadal has beaten Melzer both times they've met, including a convincing 6-3, 6-1 result in the Round of 32 at last year's clay event in Madrid. The Spaniard should have no problem reaching his ninth Grand Slam final.
Final: Rafael Nadal (2) def. Tomas Berdych (15)
Nadal is 7-3 against Berdych and has won the last six meetings without dropping a set. The Spaniard is 3-0 versus the Czech on clay and, additionally, has won a match played between the two on the hard courts of Indian Wells earlier this year. Nadal will win his fifth French Open title and take over the No. 1 ranking in the world.
