French Open 2014 Results: Most Shocking Scores from Tuesday’s 1st-Round Action

Defending Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka was the marquee upset victim through the first two days of play, but the Swiss star has company after Tuesday's action.

Reigning Aussie Open Champ Exits Early
One day after Wawrinka was bounced in the first round at Roland Garros, 2014 Aussie Open women's champ Li Na fell victim to yet another jaw-dropping upset.
The second-seeded Chinese contender lost in three sets to unseeded Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic, who currently ranks 103rd in the world.
Afterward, Li admitted that she didn't put up the necessary resistance to advance Tuesday, per the Associated Press (via ESPN.com):
"Nobody say if you No. 2 in the world you have to win all the matches. I mean, this is tennis. I think doesn't matter who plays today against me; I always lose the match today because I don't think she...put a lot of pressure [on] me. I think today just I gave it away."
Despite some shaky play early, Li appeared poised to survive after taking the second set in just over a half hour. But the third set belonged to Mladenovic, who won 27 of 39 total points and committed just five unforced errors en route to a 6-1 blowout.
For Li, who won this Slam back in 2011, the loss is not only disappointing but worrisome at age 32.
