French Open 2012: What Novak Djokovic Must Do to Become Greatest Player Ever

In 2011, he went 70-6 and won ten titles, including two Grand Slams. So far in 2012, he is 30-5 and won two titles, including one Grand Slam.
Djokovic's hard work and tenacity is what makes him one of the toughest players to face on the ATP Tour. His fast-pace play, rocket serve and quickness has earned him his deserving No. 1 ranking in the world.
Heading in to the 2012 French Open, the Djoker has the opportunity to win his fourth straight Grand Slam. This would be an unprecedented feat that few have the ability to even accomplish.
Clay surfaces, however, are not Djokovic's strong suit.
He plays with lots of top spin, and on a slower court, his over-aggressive shots will go out and his under-aggressive shots will be taken advantage of by his opponents.
With this inconsistent play, Djokovic struggles to dictate and control the flow of the game. He has been creating too many unforced errors, which is what allows his opponents to stay around from match to match.
It is this inability to swiftly defeat the opposition that also tests Djoker's mental toughness.
At Roland Garros thus far, Djokovic has competed in back-to-back five-set matches, in both he was down and forced to come back.
Djokovic is one of the most fit players on the tour, but continuous five-set matches can even wear him down—and he has not faced his hardest competition yet.
Right now, his name is in and out of the "Greatest Player Ever" conversation, but in order to solidify it, Novak Djokovic must learn to adapt his game, maintain his passion, competitive drive and stamina and add a Grand Slam victory in Paris to his resume.
