Two of the top men in the world were taken to the brink on Tuesday, while the ladies offered less drama but sent through two intriguing contenders to the semifinals.
The quality of play at this year's French Open hit a frenzied peak on the tournament's 10th day. And luckily for all of us, it should keep getting better from here.

It doesn't get much better than the battle these two competitors gave us today, which played out in four acts.
Act 1: Djokovic dominates the first set and looks poised to earn a berth in the semifinals without breaking a sweat.
Act 2: Tsonga takes over, winning the second and third sets and finding himself up 5-4 in the fourth set with two break points. Now it is Tsonga who looks poised to pull off the upset.
Act 3: Djokovic fights off those match points (and four match points overall) to force a fourth-set tiebreaker. His grit and mental toughness is never more apparent than during this period. He battles with Tsonga in the tiebreaker and comes away with an 8-6 win and a fourth-set victory.
Act 4: The fifth set is merely a formality. Tsonga is beaten, and he knows it, after blowing four glorious chances to finish of the Djoker. An epic match ends with barely a whimper as Djokovic wins the set, 6-1.
Djokovic now has 26 straight wins in Grand Slam tournaments. That's a remarkable stat.
