French Open 2011 Shocker: Caroline Wozniacki Pummeled by Daniela Hantuchova

The top seed in the women's draw was completely outplayed by Daniela Hantuchova and it showed in the 6-1, 6-3 scoreline. Hantuchova played aggressive, high-risk tennis and she made few errors. Wozniacki, as a result, was unable to dictate play and it was she that was often forced to do the bulk of the running.
Wozniacki surely had hope up until the bitter end, as the 28th-seeded Hantuchova has been known to choke in big matches in the past.
This time was different, however, as Hantuchova was able to stay cool, calm and collected as she eased her way to victory.
For Wozniacki, this will be another disappointment in a major, as she would have hoped to have improved on her quarterfinal appearance at Roland Garros last year.
Unfortunately for Hantuchova, her next round opponent won't be any easier. She will face the 13th-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova, who won the French Open in 2009.
This marks the first time in the Open Era that the top two women's seeds were bounced from a major tournament before the round of 16. The No. 2 seed, Kim Clijsters, lost to Arantxa Rus on Thursday.
With world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki and 2010 French Open finalist Samantha Stosur exiting on Friday, this is proving to be one of the more wide open major tournaments in recent memory.
