However, there are some other notables that are worth mentioning before the action gets started on Friday at 10 a.m. ET (3 p.m. GMT). Keep reading to have a look at the top participants to keep an eye on.
Tomas Berdych, Czech Republic
World No. 7 Tomas Berdych is going to have to do the heavy lifting for the Czech side. He’s no stranger to that, as Berdych is by far the country’s best tennis star and helped guide it to a Davis Cup victory last year.
Berdych was able to defeat Nicolas Almagro in a pivotal matchup, and was part of a doubles squad—with Radek Stepanek—that edged Spain in the finals of that event.
Unfortunately, he’s got his work cut out against the Djoker, as the 28-year-old has only beaten his foe twice in 16 tries.
The most recent victory in favor of Berdych came earlier this year in Rome, when the Czech star eliminated Nole, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. He will have to channel another one of those great performances to walk away with a win in this one.

Djokovic is looking to become a two-time Davis Cup winner. However, he will have to put Serbia on his back if that is going to happen, as there are a number of tough opponents in his way.
