Sunday Recap After watching second seed Garbine Muguruza suffer a scare in her opening match on Saturday, Radwanska ensured there was no complacency on show in her game against Wang.
The world No. 4 was imperious from the off here, breaking her opponent at the first opportunity and continually applying pressure throughout the opening stages. Even when Wang did wrest the break back in the fifth game, Radwanska was able to get stuck into the wild card’s serve and coasted to a 6-2 opening set win.
Although there was a gulf in class, Wang was doing everything she could to cling on, even after going a break down early in the second set.
