Nadal Too Strong for Gutsy Pospisil
Pospisil and Nadal were evenly matched in a very tight opening set, neither able to force a crucial break as both looked comfortable behind their respective serves.
The No. 3 seeded Spaniard had the advantage of serving first, but he could not take the opener at either 5-4 or 6-5 in front.

The start of the second set was similarly close, but Pospisil finally buckled as he threw in a poor service game and Nadal broke for 3-2.
The world No. 8 saw out the match despite a spirited effort in the final game from Pospisil, and he takes his place in the last eight.
Elsewhere, fresh from his win at the Shenzhen Open, there were big things expected of Berdych. But he was completely outplayed by Cuevas, who was able to nullify the Czech’s thunderous serve and take a very impressive 6-4, 6-4 win.
