Caroline Wozniacki Nominated for Danish Athlete of the Year

The grueling 11-month season is over, but the dog days are just beginning for Caroline Woniacki.
Enjoying her time away from tennis, Wozniacki emerged as a winner—and new pet owner—after a successful trip to an amusement park.
"Went to the amusement park this morning and won this What should I call him?" Wozniacki asked fans following her on Twitter.
It didn't take long for Wozniacki, whose blue finger nail polish is a perfect match for the blue in her puppy's eyes, to settle on the name "Snowy" for her new pet.
Wozniacki continues to rack up honors outside of the amusement park setting.
The World No. 1 has been nominated for Danish Athlete of the Year.
The 20-year-old Wozniacki, who was born and raised in Denmark by her Polish parents, led the WTA in titles and victories, finishing second in prize money.
Wozniacki joins bicycle racer Matti Breschel, a silver medalist at the UCI World Road Championships men’s road race and swimmer Lotte Friis, a bronze medalist in the women’s 800 meter freestyle at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, as a nominee.
"All three athletes have delivered fantastic results in the past year and for all of them, it happened in sports with very high international competition," said the Danish Sports Federation president. "It’s a performance that the Danes can be really proud of. It is gratifying to note that Lotte Friis, Matti Breschel and Caroline Wozniacki are young and hopefully have lots of good years in them yet. We are thus talking about three athletes who are likely to dominate the top of Danish sport well into the future."
