Djokovic moves on to Sunday's final where he will meet fellow "Big Four" star Andy Murray. Both players entered the tournament with question marks. The Serb had an illness that limited his practice time while the Scot was still searching for top form after some injury woes.
Those issues are now firmly in the rear-view mirror as they get prepared to face off for the season's first Grand Slam title. Before they do, let's check out how Djokovic earned his spot in the championship match along with some reaction.

Friday's clash marked the third straight year Djokovic and Wawrinka met in Australia. Each of the previous two went five sets. Last year's meeting was the first time since 2006 that Wawrinka won a match between the two, and it helped propel him to his first major title.
It didn't take long to see they were probably in for another extended battle. Although it took some time for both players to find a rhythm, the first set ended up in a tiebreak. Djokovic was finally able to elevate his game to grab early control.
Bleacher Report's Dan Levy, who joked the Serbian sensation is a tennis-playing robot, highlighted his improved play late in the set:
Wawrinka got back level by securing the only break of the second set. It was also an impressive stretch of serving by the Swiss star, who had three aces in the set as compared to none for Djokovic while also winning 83 percent of points on his first serve.
