WatchESPN and ESPN3.com also provide live streaming coverage. The Tennis Channel wrap-up show Australian Open today will re-air the best matches of the day and have interviews from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET. ESPN2 will pick up with their own coverage at 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Four quarterfinal matches will be shown on Day 9. Li Na and Agnieszka Radwańska commence the quarterfinal action at Rod Laver Arena, followed by David Ferrer and Nicolás Almagro. Ferrer has defeated Almagro in all 12 of their career meetings. Their only grand slam meeting was at the 2006 US Open. Ferrer won that in straight sets.
Ekaterina Makarova will attempt for her first career win in five tries against Maria Sharapova in the final quarter of the day. They are matching up in quarterfinals for the second consecutive year.
The only night quarterfinal will be Novak Djokovic and Tomáš Berdych. Djokovic holds an 11-1 edge against Berdych. They are even in grand slam matchups. Djokovic won their quarterfinal matchup two years ago in Melbourne in straight sets. That was his win to avenge his shocking loss in straight sets to Berdych in the Wimbledon semifinals in 2009.
