Women's Singles Final Score: Day 13
Victoria Azarenka (1) defended her title accordingly, defeating Li Na (6) 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to win the 2013 Australian Open.
Men's Doubles Final Scores: Day 13
Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan (1) continued their dominance on the men's doubles world, beating Robin Haase and Igor Sijsling 6-3, 6-4 to earn their sixth Aussie Open title.
Azarenka Defends Her Title
It took two hours and 40 minutes, but Victoria Azarenka was able to overcome Li Na, who required two medical timeouts during the match.
As the Associated Press (via ESPN) notes, Li Na injured her ankle during the second set and reportedly blacked out in the final set after falling and slamming her head on the court.
Azarenka entered this match with the crowd against her, as her sportsmanship was in question following a medical timeout taken in the semis vs. Sloane Stephens, according to the Miami Herald.
Hopefully Li Na's injury doesn't affect Azarenka's legacy of winning the 2013 title, as the Belarusian undoubtedly earned the Aussie Open crown.
