Australian Open 2013 Men’s Finals: Results for Novak Djokovic vs. Andy Murray

Coming into the tournament, this was the final that fans wanted to see, and the two stars did not disappoint.
Murray got out to an early lead with a tiebreak win in the first set. His serve was on point and he made fewer mistakes to earn the victory.
The match was just as close in the second, although Djokovic was able to pull out the 7-6 win after a 7-3 tiebreak.
However, there was something else that might have changed momentum in the match, according to the Australian Open Twitter feed:
The British star seemed to lose focus as he double faulted and then eventually could not finish off points.
In the next two sets, it seemed to be all Djokovic. The top seed started to break serves and completely dominated the rest of the match.
Even though Murray put up good fight at the end, he could not overcome the consistency of the No. 1 player in the world.
With the win, Djokovic has now earned three straight titles at Melbourne and has won four in his career. He has established himself once again as the top player in the world and should be favored in every tourney he enters over the next year.

Murray also had an impressive run to the finals, defeating Roger Federer in five sets. Before that, he defeated all five of his previous opponents in straight sets.
However, after winning the U.S. Open in 2012, great things are expected out of Murray every time out.
Both players should build off a solid performance in Melbourne and as they try to build toward a great year in 2013.
