Expertly navigating the court, Djokovic was able to dispatch of Berdych in straight sets and will continue his quest for a title in the semifinals on Sunday.
Also advancing to the semis is crowd favorite Andy Murray, who recovered from his loss to Djokovic on Wednesday to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Like Djokovic, Murray was able to advance in just two sets, despite a strong effort from Tsonga in the second.
On the doubles side of things, upsets continued to overtake the tournament. Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor, who have dominated the event in the past, were sent packing by fifth seed Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna. That loss will end a two-year partnership between Mirnyi and Nestor in an unfortunate fashion.
In the other doubles match, Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau pulled off a slight upset of Jonathan Marray and Frederik Nielsen. Nonetheless, Marray and Nielsen still will win the Group B crown due to their earlier victories in round-robin play.
