Andy Roddick Stops John Isner; Ryan Harrison’s Cinderella Run Continues

It was an all-American kind of day at Indian Wells Tuesday, with the most familiar face and the freshest face both scoring major wins.
The night session concluded with Andy Roddick defeating John Isner 7-5, 6-2 to punch his ticket to the fourth round.
Isner fired 15 aces, but Roddick was by far more consistent, hitting a dazzling 14-of-15 second serves for winners and breaking Isner all three possible times. Roddick advances to the fourth round to take on France's Richard Gasquet, who pounded 10th-seeded Jurgen Melzer 6-1, 6-3.
After a so-so end to 2010, Roddick has started this year 16-2 with one title already under his belt.
Ten years Roddick's junior, but just as much a fourth-round qualifier, is 18-year-old Ryan Harrison, the wild card who had the pro-American crowd on its feet as he took out Canadian phenom Milos Raonic in a two-and-a-half hour 7-6(1), 4-6, 6-4 victory during the late afternoon.
“He's played a lot of matches where he's just looked at the guy that serves huge and plays big and doesn't really have much to lose right now,” Harrison said of Raonic. “The fact that I have been beaten him a couple times [in juniors] and the fact that we're somewhat similar in age and I'm younger than him also helped me a little bit."
The pair combined for 28 aces—17 by Raonic, but Harrison's pluck in the first-round tiebreak and his superior service down the stretch sent the world's No. 152 player into a showdown with none other than Roger Federer Wednesday.
Federer battled with Novak Djokovic for top honors in the "blink and you missed it" match of the day. Federer needed just 58 minutes to rush Juan Ignacio Chela, 6-0, 6-2, breaking his opponent five times and seldom missing on first serves.
